| Services: | Evergreen Behavioral Services provides comprehensive mental health services in Franklin County and the surrounding areas. Evergreen Behavioral Services offers outpatient services, substance abuse services, eating disorders treatment, crisis services, an employee assistance program, and services for Crossroads Regional School, an alternative day treatment program for children, ages 13-18, who have serious emotional and behavioral problems.
Evergreen Behavioral Services has offices located throughout Greater Franklin County, including Farmington, Kingfield, and Livermore Falls. More recently, Evergreen has launched programs focused on providing mental heath services on-site at doctor’s practices, schools, and a detention facility to better meet the needs of individuals and the community. Evergreen Behavioral Services is a collaborative of Franklin Community Health Network and the Sisters of Charity Health System (the parent corporation of St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston). The Evergreen Child Development Center opened in August, 2008 at the Mt. Blue Health Center next to Franklin Memorial Hospital. The Center is a part of Evergreen Behavioral Services and affiliated with Franklin Memorial Hospital. This new program will promote the optimal development and abilities of children and adolescents with a wide range of developmental and behavioral concerns including: autism, autism spectrum disorders, Asperger's Syndrome, ADHD, and difficulties with learning and school performance. Dr. Iris Silverstein, a pediatrician who is board-certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics with additional board certification in developmental-behavioral pediatrics, leads the program. Dr. Silverstein has a respected history in the community as a pediatrician who practiced at Pine Tree Pediatrics and at Franklin Memorial Hospital for more than fifteen years. More than 800 children in Greater Franklin County have special needs. Developmental disabilities, learning difficulties, attention deficit disorder, and behavioral concerns affect at least 20% of children and adolescents. On average, 1 in every 150 children born develops an autism spectrum disorder. The Evergreen Child Development Center will provide an important and needed service for this large and growing vulnerable population. Call Evergreen Behavioral Services at 778-0035 or 1-800-394-1900 for more information or for an appointment. |
