Services:  Reeds Mill Church in Madrid is a nondenominational Christian church. Built in 1892, it remains today essentially as it was then; a one room church with no electricity or water, heated by a wood stove as needed and lit with the glow of original kerosene lamps. Nestled in a wooded area just off Reeds Mill Rd, the hymn “Come to the Church in Wildwood” aptly reflects the feel of the church. Services are held Sunday afternoons at 2:00 PM in July and August. The last Sunday in August celebrates Old Home Sunday, with potluck at noon and the service at 1:00. Because Reeds Mill Church is not affiliated with a conference there is no one pastor. The message is brought to the congregation by a different speaker each week, often times a minister from a local church who has served his own congregation that morning. In addition to Sunday services, there are two Hymn Sings scheduled; the first is the second Sunday in July and the second, the second Sunday in September, both at 7:00 PM. It is recommended a flashlight accompany you. There is a 10:00 AM service Thanksgiving morning as well as a Candlelight Service the Sunday before Christmas at 3:00 in the afternoon followed by an Open House at a nearby home. With seating for approximately 100 people, Reeds Mill Church is the perfect place for a country wedding. Call for more information.
