Services:  Founded in 1989, Healthy Community Coalition (HCC) is an affiliate of the Franklin Community Health Network with a mission of promoting health and well-being in Franklin County and neighboring towns, including Livermore Falls. HCC runs programs and events to support healthy lifestyles that prevent disease and improve quality of life. It also helps neighborhoods grow and thrive -- building a stronger and healthier community for everyone. HCC’s mobile health unit and community outreach efforts appear in every town and corner of our community, offering screenings and health information, and the task forces, volunteers, and health advocates take on the issues that matter in the region’s towns and neighborhoods. Get involved… make a difference! Join a community task force and help make these specific ideas work: Increase availability and awareness of existing walking maps. Help develop a directory of youth opportunities in Greater Franklin County and expand after school opportunities for youth. Expand Franklin Health Access. Improve access to local healthy eating choices. Develop a catalogue of local products and ways to store raw material to promote local bulk purchasing. Expand adult education courses on money management, cooking and other life skills. Engage area schools in improving environmental education. Develop a Youth Speaker’s Bureau to support tobacco prevention efforts. Task Forces: Have the support of Healthy Community Coalition staff Develop specific goals Have a realistic timeframe for accomplishing goals. Contact Lisa Laflin, Community Building Coordinator at (207) 645-3136 x 5103 for more information about how you can become involved in task forces.

Services:  After school program with organized activities at the UMF Fitness and Recreation Center, including swimming, physical fitness activities, and arts and crafts. Registration is required in advance.

The program is open from 3-5pm Monday – Friday. A monthly calendar is given to parents indicating some of the daily activities that are planned. The program is closed on MSAD #9 half-days or no school days and these days are indicated on the calendar. Mondays and Fridays are gym activities, Tuesday and Thursdays are pool activities, and Wednesdays are arts and crafts.

The program is designed for children ages 5-12. When there is a small group, the children participate in activities together regardless of age. When there is a large group, older participants are offered alternative activities.

Fees:  $2 per child per day for members. $4 per child per day for non-members.

Pay per Semester option: $150 for non-members and $100 for members.

Paperwork must be completed prior to participation and the fees must be paid as well. Weekly registration and payment is encouraged. Most parents register Monday for the week. Some pay in advance for the entire month/semester when they know which days of the week their child will be attending. There is no set number of days for participation. If your child will begin attendance during the spring semester, we have a reduced registration fee if you are able to pay in advance for the entire semester. This does not require that your child attend everyday. It simply alleviates the need for the parent to pay per day/week every Monday.

Hours:

The program is open from 3-5pm Monday – Friday.

Also enjoy swimming, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, horseshoe pit, volleyball net and snowmobiling off the trail (ITS 84 & 89), midway between Pittsburg, NH and Oquossoc, ME.

Why not include Bosebuck Mountain Camps in your Snowmobiling Plans this winter. Bosebuck is directly on the trail (ITS 84) in Maine on the NH border, approximately midway between Pittsburg, NH and Rangeley, ME. Overnight lodging, gas, food (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and ME snowmobile registrations are provided. The facility is at an elevation of about 1600 ft in the heart of the Maine/NH snowbelt. Be sure and watch our Web Cams and see for yourself. At Bosebuck, you are already in the heart of the best riding there is. So, just bring your sleds and be ready for a unique experience like none other.

Limited Access Policy Statement

Bosebuck Mountain Camps is located amidst a 250,000 acre wilderness. A major portion of this area is gated by the landowner, prohibiting access by the general public but permitting access by our Guests on a limited/restricted basis.

The area of the Upper Magalloway river is crisscrossed with a complex network of active logging roads. Out of our genuine concern for guest safety, new visitors to Bosebuck are strongly advised to secure the services of a Licensed Maine Guide for, at a minimum, the first day of their trip into the Upper River area. The policy north of the gates is "catch and release"

As always, the Big and Little Magalloway Rivers below Parmachenee Lake, as well as Aziscohos Lake and the Lower River, are all readily accessible. In these areas, professional guides services are also available if needed.

Travel another 3 miles north and you will come across a bridge with silver guard rails. Just as you cross the bridge take the next left. Our sign will be at the entrance of the dirt road.
