| Services: | The Trust Me program was developed in October of 2000 as a joint project of the Maine Department of Human Services and Southern Kennebec Child Development Corporation. Trust Me has identified in-home/license exempt caregivers in Maine and established a database of those caregivers who have voluntarily undergone background checks successfully. These caregivers increase the availability and accessibility of child care for parents. Trust Me provides the approved caregivers with marketing and child care resource materials. Trust Me is one of only three programs in the country, supporting in-home/license exempt caregivers to increase the capacity of responsible caregiving for children. To find out if a caregiver is listed with Trust Me, contact the Trust Me program and simply let them know the person’s full name and address. If a current caregiver is not listed with the Trust Me, call them to learn how he/she can apply. |
