Infant/Toddler Story Time Fridays at 10:30 - Starts in January Story Time includes finger plays and rhymes, the librarian reading a picture book, and lap time with the adult(s) reading to the child from an assortment of board books. An activity related to a concept in the picture book will follow. Preschool Story Time Tuesdays at 10:30 - Starts in January Story Time includes finger plays, some form of poetry, and at least one picture book. An activity related to a concept in the picture book will follow. Elementary Story Time Third Thursday of the Month at 6:00 p.m. Story Time will highlight a picture book from the reading list for Maine’s Chickadee Award. An activity related to a concept from the book will follow. Hands On PAH! In addition to their regularly scheduled children’s story times, Wilton Free Public Library will also offer interpreted story times through their Hands On PAH! program, which is dedicated to meeting the needs of the deaf and hard of hearing children and adults, and their families in western Maine. Interpreted story times will be at the library, the first Saturday of each month, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Deaf and hearing children and their families will enjoy stories that are deaf-centered, and children will have the opportunity to learn about Deaf culture, American Sign Language, and participate in an arts and crafts activity.
