| Clients: | The Center for Tobacco Independence is contracted by the Partnership for a Tobacco Free Maine to implement the tobacco treatment and training initiatives for Maine. The initiative aims to increase access to proven interventions for tobacco dependence. There are three core areas: Tobacco Treatment Training Program The Maine Tobacco Helpline (1-800-207-1230) The Medication Voucher Program The statewide Tobacco Intervention: Basic Skills Training provides education to healthcare professionals about tobacco dependence and instruction on delivering brief interventions. Basic Trainings The two day Tobacco Treatment Specialist Training provides education on delivering intensive counseling. Specialist Training attendees are required to attend a Basic Skills Training. The Specialist Training is a pre-requisite to certification as a Tobacco Treatment Specialist by ALA-ME. |
