The provider must prescribe the type of equipment that you need for use in your home. Medicare also requires the provider to fill out a form and send it in to get approval for the equipment, if the medical equipment is the following: Air-fluidized beds, bone growth stimulators, external infusion pumps, hospital beds, lyphedema pumps/pneumatic compression devices, oxygen, scooters, self lift mechanisms, transcutanous electronic nerve stimulators, and wheelchairs.
