Services:  Medicare Part D is the name of the Prescription Drug Benefit Program being offered to all Medicare beneficiaries. It started on January 1, 2006. Private health plans and Medicare HMOs apply to Medicare for approval to offer a Part D plan that covers prescription drugs. Medicare beneficiaries will then be able to compare the Part D plans and enroll directly into the plan of their choice. As this is a relatively new program, there are many questions and concerns being shared, such as: How much does it cost? Do I have to enroll? Is there help available to pay for these costs?
