| Services: | The University of Maine Fitness and Recreation Center is located on the University of Maine Farmington campus. It offers high quality health and fitness programs, and has recently increased opportunities for campus recreation programs. Services include:
Aerobics: circuit, dance, kick boxing, step and step varieties, yoga, and pilates. Aquatics: adult/child learn to swim, LifeGuard certifications, family swim, infant and preschool swim program, Mills swim program, MS/Arthritis water aerobics, MSAD #9 swim program, senior water aerobics, and Special Olympics/special needs swim. Children’s Programs: adventure camp, after school program, birthday party program, childcare (M-F 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.), school vacation camp, and summer daze camp. Fitness/Wellness: Cardiac Rehab 3 Program, Diabetes exercise/education, Heart Time Program (for people ages 55 and up), muscle conditioning/toning classes, personal exercise plans, resistance training, senior strength and balance, strength and conditioning clinics, women on weights (WOW), and youth fitness club. Other: project graduation, school field trips, sports leagues, tennis lessons, and ropes course (high and low). Equipment: climbing wall, elliptical trainers, indoor recreation equipment, weight equipment, four court field house, indoor track, Gravitron, lockers and showers, swimming pool, and more equipment. All of the staff are CPR, First Aid, and AED certified. |
