| Clients: | Farmers located within the designated five-county area, farmers who are involved in a profit-motivated agricultural endeavor, farmers who can demonstrate a “reasonable” credit history and ability to repay the proposed loan. |
| Services: | For farmers looking for: A small loan, a loan with a low fixed interest rate, and a loan with limited paperwork. Loans would provide help for: Purchase of new and used equipment, improvement or expansion of farm infrastructure, purchase or lease of land, marketing costs and short and longer term working capital, tree farms and aquaculture are not eligible. |
| Fees: | Contact one of the four banks participating in the program. They will submit their recommendations to the Western Mountains Alliance Agricultural Loan Committee for final consideration. The banks participating in the Western Maine Farm Fund are: Bangor Savings Bank, Franklin Savings Bank, Skowhegan Savings Bank, and the UnitedKingfield Bank. |
