Services:  If you are unemployed through no fault of your own, you may be eligible for unemployment benefits. It can take time to begin to receive any unemployment benefits for which you may be eligible. For this reason, you are encouraged to apply for unemployment as quickly as possible after you have been laid off. When filing for unemployment benefits, be sure to bring the following information: Your Social Security number (card), Name and address of recent employers for the past 18 months, When you started work, When you stopped work, Reason why you are not working now, Separation notice or letter (layoff slip), if applicable. You make a file claim for unemployment insurance by calling any unemployment call center. You can get a claim form from the Career Center or many Town Offices.
