| Services: | KidsPeace is a private, not-for-profit charity dedicated to serving the critical behavioral and mental health needs of children, preadolescents and teens. Since 1882, KidsPeace has been helping kids develop the confidence and skills they need to overcome crisis. KidsPeace provides specialized residential treatment services and a comprehensive range of treatment programs and educational services to help families help kids anticipate and avoid crisis whenever possible. KidsPeace has extensive experience working with public and private human service professionals whose responsibilities include treating and educating children. For over a decade, KidsPeace has been working with private and public insurance and managed care programs to treat a wide range of issues affecting youth. KidsPeace offers a wide range of residential and community services, including a free-standing psychiatric children’s hospital, juvenile justice programs and specialized foster care. Every day, the knowledgeable, caring staff members work hard to bring kids the peace they so desperately need. KidsPeace addresses a wide range of issues requiring specialized care: Adjudication cases, adjustment disorder, angry acting out, aggression, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, conduct disorder, defiance, delinquency, depression, difficulties in interaction/bonding, dissociative identity disorder, dually diagnosed teens (psychiatric/substance abuse), dysfunctional behavior patterns, impulse-control disorder, intermittent explosive disorder, learning disabilities, multiple psychiatric disorders, oppositional behavior, posttraumatic stress disorder, school phobia, school refusal, severe attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, sexual abuse victims/perpetrators, social/emotional maladjustment, suicidal gesturing, suicidal ideation, truancy, and most DSM-IV diagnosis. |
